• Tor is sponsoring a series of giveaways for Halloween: On October 31, they will run a 24-hour sweepstakes marathon, giving away books every hour. Winners get a pair of books: one to keep and one to give away.
• Giveaway: A lot of people seem to be excited about the new Brandon Sanderson book (The Alloy of Law) coming in November. Inkwing.com is giving away an Alloy of Law t-shirt. I’m not sure what the deadline is.
• In more Alloy of Law news, you can now download for free a six-chapter preview of the book from iBooks, Amazon/Kindle, Barnes & Noble/Nook, Sony, Kobo, or you can read it on Tor Books‘ website. If interested, click on whichever vendor/website works for your favorite e-reader.
• Giveaway: I’ve seen (and passed along to you) several contests to win advanced reading copies (ARCs) of The Alloy of Law, but Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist is raffling off three first-edition hardcovers. I suggest you hurry if you’re interested because there was no deadline listed.
• Do you like urban fantasy? Tor has posted the new urban fantasy books that it will release in November. Maybe you can find new reading material here. If that’s not your cup of tea, how about paranormal romance, science fiction, fantasy, or genre-benders?
